Rain Detection System using Arduino and Rain Sensor
The Rain Detection System is a simple yet effective project using an Arduino Uno and a rain sensor module to detect rain or moisture. This system is widely used in smart irrigation, automatic window closing, wiper activation, and home automation setups. It offers real-time environmental monitoring and quick response to rainfall conditions.
The core of the system is the rain sensor module, which consists of a sensing plate and a control board. When rainwater touches the sensor plate, it changes the conductivity between the tracks, which is detected as an analog or digital signal. This signal is sent to the Arduino Uno, which processes it and takes appropriate actions, such as activating a buzzer, LED, or displaying the rain status on a 16×2 LCD (with I2C module).
Users can also connect the system to actuators like servo motors or relays to automate tasks such as closing windows or switching off outdoor devices when it rains.
