Solar Irrigation System
A solar-powered irrigation system integrates renewable energy and automation to efficiently manage water resources for agriculture. This setup typically includes a solar panel, battery, Atmega328 microcontroller, L293D motor driver, soil moisture sensor, and water pump. The solar panel charges the battery, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply. The soil moisture sensor continuously monitors soil hydration levels, transmitting data to the Atmega328 microcontroller. When moisture levels fall below a predetermined threshold, the microcontroller activates the L293D motor driver, which in turn powers the water pump to irrigate the soil. Once optimal moisture is restored, the system halts irrigation, conserving water and energy. This autonomous operation reduces manual labor and enhances crop health by maintaining consistent soil moisture. Implementing such a system promotes sustainable farming practices, leveraging solar energy to minimize environmental impact and operational costs.
